Sage simplifies its portfolio with new version of Sage Start

Together with the launch of the new version of Sage Start, Sage Schweiz AG simplifies its portfolio. The entire functional scope of Sage 100 will be integrated into the 2013 version of the business software Sage Start and distributed across three product lines. In the future, only the Sage Start product will be available. For the 5000 existing customers, nothing will change except the name change. By merging the two products, Sage optimizes its alignment with the target groups of small businesses, startups, and associations. The new version is now available.

Until now, Sage 100 was built on Sage Start. Both products are identical in terms of technology and operation and differ only in the scope of functions. The previous lines of Sage 100 are integrated into Sage Start. Even after the merger, the focus remains on striving for a software solution that flexibly adapts to the requirements and growth of small businesses and startups. New product lines with optimized functionality

The software solution Sage Start will be led in three product lines Lite, Standard, and Professional going forward. Sage 100 Light will become Sage Start Standard, Sage 100 Standard will become Sage Start Professional. The previous Sage Start will now be Sage Start Lite. Thanks to the merger, the new product lines offer a clear and optimized selection. Thus, all three lines now allow managing an unlimited number of clients. From the Standard line, features for E-Banking and foreign currencies are available. The options previously available under Sage 100 such as performance recording, serial and batch numbers, and subscription management are completely included in the Professional line.

New Version 2013 simplifies business processes

In addition to the merger, the focus of the latest version is on extensions that facilitate business operations and simplify processes. Sage Start is fully compatible with Windows 8.

• Efficiently manage documents: As of version 2013, the user has the option to define a delivery or order address per document for each customer. This can be changed at any time during the document process.
• Book using account designation: Users can now also make bookings based on the account designation. Sage Start automatically recognizes the account number or displays the list of accounts for selection.
• Detailed information in evaluations more readily available: Through so-called hotspot links, selected databases can be opened directly in various evaluations. From a sales list, for example, a customer can be opened directly or from a birthday list of employees directly switch to the personnel file of a specific employee.
• Integrated QR code generator: QR codes enable the rapid processing of information. With Sage Start, the QR code can now, for example, be easily and freely used on invoices or quotes.

Availability

Sage Start includes the individually usable modules of Financial Accounting, Invoicing, and Payroll Accounting and is available in the following three package solutions: Accounting Package (Financial Accounting, Accounts Receivable and Payable Management), Order Processing Package (Invoicing, Purchasing and Sales, Inventory, Accounts Receivable and Payable Management). The Enterprise Package includes all modules of Sage Start. The 2013 version of Sage Start is available now from a Sage sales partner or directly from Sage in three languages (German, French, and Italian). Sage Start is available starting from CHF 189.- (Financial Accounting Lite module).
