Maximum amounts of pillar 3a for the year 2023
For 2023, the maximum contributions to Pillar 3a have been increased, allowing employees to contribute up to CHF 7,056 and the self-employed up to CHF 35,280.

For this year, the maximum amounts for pillar 3a have been increased again. The following amounts apply for the tax year 2023:
CHF 7,056 for insured individuals and employees with a pension fund
CHF 35,280 or max. 20% of net income for self-employed individuals without a pension fund
Until when can I pay into the retirement account?
Contributions must be received in the retirement account by no later than December 31, 2023, to be eligible for the tax deduction for the year 2023.
Is it worth paying into pillar 3a?
Paying into pillar 3a is definitely worth it. Depending on your place of residence and income, several hundred francs can be saved, as the annually paid amount can be deducted from taxable wealth. Furthermore, the wealth remains exempt from any wealth tax during the term. Also, interest and capital gains from the income remain tax-free.
